1 month review

It's been almost a month since I have the bike. I have more than 100 km on it, most of them on gravel and less than 25% on the road.
I'm pretty satisfied with it, but again I can only compare to a Walmart bike. The front breaks were making  some noise, so yesterday I was able to get to the bike shop , and they change the pads from the front & back brakes. There was no need for the back to be changed but they did it , for free anyway, so i didn't argued with them. I felt some problems when I was changing the gears, sometimes was a delay and some times it will change 2 speeds at once. So the technician made some adjustments to them, and he told me that it was jumping over a gear sometimes. So that is fixed too, below the new brake pads and a bell that i bought for the bike.

The black color attracts the dust pretty bad.
So about the bike, the ride is ok, but again I'm not a road biker, I like go more gravel grinding. Because of that I'm more than happy for the tire choice.
The longest ride that I took was about 25 km so far, no real discomfort due to the nebula saddle but I have padded shorts. On the road the bike is decently fast and off road it can do the job.
I decided to participate on a gravel grinding race on the 15 it is called

As I promised soon I will upload pictures with the package that I've got from Trek .

ETA changed

So with sadness I must say that the ETA on my bike was changed due a combined error of TREK and my LBS. So the promised delivery day was 04.13,  I called them on that date only to find from one of the reps that they don't have a updated ETA on my bike and that they also don't control the shipping. The dude promised that they will contact me in the same day and will update with the status of my order. No email up to 9 pm, so I've sent an email back to them, stating that from my point a view a retail store that has no control over shipping is a sign o a bad business.
I've received an email the next day, were they thanked me for my feedback, and they told that there was an error in TREK's system. TREK will give me as a gift a 100$ TREK essential kit, no charge and LBS offered to give me a bike until mine arrives. I refused the bike, and they told me that mine will arrive early this week and will be set up in the same day.
Until then, my daughter needed a bike so I bought one for her for Toys'R'Us.

Random bicycle accesories

In the time that I was waiting on the bike to show up, I bought some accessories from Ebay and Amazon.

1.  Nite Ize HandleBand, Black - from Amazon - 21.99 CAD
      http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00FU4N4JU

It look like is very sturdy, and the plastic seems to be of high quality. I will have to see how the phone will stay on it, and how will manage the road vibrations.

2.  Hot Outdoor MTB Bike Bicycle Light LED Headlight Taillight Sets LN - 4.33 CAD
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/-/231293543519

Feels like realy cheap plastic, when I mounted the batteries it almost felt apart. But again less than 4 CAD ....... . Each lamp has different sequences of the way it lights. Will have to see how long it lasts.

3.  SAHOO Bike Bicycle Cycle Multitool Repair Wrench Spanner Tool Kit With Bag - 11.71 USD
No longer available on Ebay

The bag goes behind the saddle and is small. The tools seem ok.

4. Bicycle Cycling Bike Frame Waterproof Cellphone Mobile Phone Bag case holder - 5 CAD
No longer available on Ebay

Decent quality I intend to use it only on the long rides, It looks kinda weird.

5. Black New Durable MTB Bicycle Road Bike Cycling PC Water Cup Holder Bottle Cage - 2 CAD
No longer available on Ebay

Cheap plastic, I just hope i will not break right away. :)

6. I was also waiting on some gloves and some pants but the Chinesse screw me over, and now Ebay is looking into the order I paid and never got the goods, so stay away from them.

Tomorrow the bike should be here, I have to see how fast they can put it together. Anyhow today we had snow again in Moncton and -10C.

Trek 7.3 FX

I decided, after long searches , and budget analysis, to buy a new bike, and to be more exact Trek 7.3 FX.
Initially I wanted to buy a cyclocross bike or a gravel grinder, but due to budget limitations I decided to go for Trek 7.3 FX.

http://mikesbikeshop.ca/product/trek-7.3-fx-212738-1.htm

I went with the 17.5 inches black model , I'm 1.75 cm. Also i decided to go for a more versatile tire BONTRAGER LT3 700C HYBRID TIRE

http://www.trekbikes.com/ca/en_CA/equipment/cycling-components/bike-tires-tubes/bontrager-lt3-700c-hybrid-tire/p/08316.

I already ordered the bike from my LBS Mike's Bike Shop, the bike was 790 CAD(taxes included) and the 2 tires an extra 86 CAD (taxes included).
I hope in a couple of days I will have it and I will be able to update with some pictures.
My plan with this bike is to use on the trails around Moncton and also to start competing in local cyclocross races and gravel grind races. The first one should be  on 15 of May.
I will update soon with some accessories that I recently bought.
